Those three words kept repeating in my mind like a broken record. You're so cool. You're so cool. You're so cool.

Biography[]

Alabama Whitman was born in Tallahassee, Florida, and, she left home and traveled a great distance to Detroit, Michigan, where she found work as a call girl in the employ of nefarious pimp Drexl Spivey. At one point she was partners with bank robber Mr. White from Reservoir Dogs.

After four days working for Drexl, she is hired by the owner of a comic book store to sleep with his employee Clarence Worley, his third customer, and she meets him at a Sonny Chiba The Street Fighter movie marathon, where she deliberately spills popcorn on the young man so she can sit next to him and talk to him. She and Clarence spend the night together at Clarence's comic book store and apartment, where they make love, and Clarence develops feelings for Alabama, leading her to confess that she had been hired by Clarence's boss as a birthday present for Clarence, who was unsuccessful with women. Alabama then confesses that, although she only knew Clarence for one night, she loves him and promises never to lie to him again. Clarence is serene in the face of Alabama's revelation and decides to marry her immediately.

A few days later, Clarence, having grown jealous of Drexl Spivey breathing the same air as him, kills the pimp and recovers a bag full of Whitman's belongings. However, it turns out that the bag actually contains a large amount of cocaine which Drexl had stolen from two African-American drug dealers he had shot. Alabama and Clarence later meet Clarence's old friend, actor Dick Ritchie, and pitch the idea of a drug deal; they plan to sell $500,000 worth of cocaine for $200,000, and to do it with a big shot who's willing to buy all the drugs in a single transaction. After some thought, Ritchie agrees to put them in touch with his associate Elliot Blitzer, an actor and protégé of film producer Lee Donowitz, who deals drugs for Hollywood celebrities.

However, as Clarence goes out to buy his lunch the next day, mobster Virgil enters the motel where they're staying and, wanting to retrieve the drugs on behalf of his boss, Vincenzo Coccotti, he savagely beats Alabama, who refuses to give him any information. Virgil finally discovers that the drugs were hidden under their bed, but just as he's about to kill Alabama, she grabs a corkscrew and stabs Virgil in the feet, and a violent struggle ensues between the two. Recovering Virgil's gun after burning him alive, Alabama finally kills the sadistic mobster before Clarence returns, driving her to Los Angeles International Airport, where they hide and tend to Alabama's wounds.

Alabama later accompanies Clarence, Dick and Elliot to the Beverley Ambassador hotel to meet with Donowitz for the drug deal. However, the agreement is broken by the LAPD, who had wired Elliot as part of an undercover operation, as well as by Coccotti's men. The standoff devolves into a three-way shootout during which almost all of the participants in the deal are killed. A furious Alabama grabs a gun and shot Detective Nicky Dimes after he shot Clarence in the eye, and she manages to grab Clarence and escape with him and Donowitz's suitcase of money. The two of them then drive across the border into Mexico, where they give birth to a son, Elvis.

Personality[]

Alabama is shown to have a very bubbly personality. She's excited to do anything and meet anyone. She's also very loyal as she explains to Clarence when she's with someone she only wants to be with them and no one else. Alabama describes herself as monogamous.

It's noted during the diner scene that she like Elvis Presley, Mickey Rourke, and pie, although she doesn't actually like The Partridge Family stating she only said that as it was a part of her act to get Clarence to like her.

However, despite her lively personality, Alabama is shown to hold her own in a fight. When provoked she was able to kill Virgil on her own.
