― Esteban Vihaio to Beatrix Kiddo. |
Esteban Vihaio is a supporting antagonist in Kill Bill: Volume 2, the second and final installment of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill duology. He is an 80 year old Mexican pimp based in the border city of Ciudad Acuña who, as a friend of Bill and Budd's mother, was seen by the latter as a father figure. His prostitutes' illegitimate children are apparently recruited into an organized crime gang called the Acuña Boys, of which Esteban is the de facto leader.
He was portrayed by the late Michael Parks, who also played Earl McGraw in Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Death Proof.
Biography[]
When Beatrix Kiddo visits him, Esteban compliments her upon her beauty. He further says that if he had known her when he was in business, she would have been his "Number One Lady". The Bride, for her part, is flattered by the remark. He later tells her of Bill's whereabouts, noting that it is what Bill would have wanted him to do ("How else is he ever going to see you again?"). Esteban also notes that if he were in Bill's situation when he had tracked the Bride down he says he would have only mutilated her face instead of trying to kill her, his apparent discipline of choice for his prostitutes.
