Roman Polanski (Polish. Roman Polański), born Raymond Thierry Liebling, is a minor, yet pivotal character in Quentin Tarantino's ninth film, "Once Upon a Time In Hollywood". He is a Polish-French film director and screenwriter of Jewish descent as well as Sharon Tate's husband. He is based on the real life director of the same name.

He was portrayed by Rafał Zawierucha.

Roman Polanski was born on 18 August, 1933 in Paris. His Polish-Jewish parents moved from Paris to Kraków in 1937. When World War II started Polanski's mother and father were taken in raids. Roman spent his formative years in foster homes and survived the Holocaust.

He met Sharon Tate in United Kingdom while shooting one of his movies and married her after she broke off her engagement with a hair stylist, Jay Sebring. Later Roman, Sharon and Jay moved to Los Angeles and were inseparable since then.
